Background: The City of Port Arthur Landfill requires a minimum of three(3)dozers to function properly and to remain in compliance. Council previously approved the seven—month rental for $47,600.00 in resolution 21-165. Repairs to one of the required dozers continues, and Council approved the repair in PR 22099. During the repairs to the City's equipment, extension of the rental for an additional six(6)months to continue efficiently spreading the dirt over the trash is necessary for compliance with the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Budget Impact: Funds are available in Landfill -Equipment Rental,Account number 403-50-320-5402-00-00- 000. A RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE RENTAL OF THE JOHN DEERE 750K DOZER FROM DOGGETT HEAVY MACHINERY SERVICES OF BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA, FOR THE PORT ARTHUR LANDFILL FOR A NOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT OF $39, 864 . 36 . FUNDING IS AVAILABLE IN LANDFILL / EQUIPMENT RENTAL, ACCOUNT NUMBER 403-50-320-5402-00-00-000 . WHEREAS, The City of Port Arthur Landfill requires a minimum of three (3) dozers to maintain compliance with Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulations ; and, WHEREAS, for the Landfill to function smoothly, without violations and to serve the citizens of Port Arthur efficiently, the Landfill requires the employment of dozers to move trash and excess dirt within the Landfill; and, WHEREAS, City Council previously approved the seven(7) month rental of the John Deere 750K Dozer from Doggett Heavy Machinery Services (Doggett) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for $47, 600 . 00 in Resolution 21-165 ; and, WHEREAS, Doggett offered an extension of the rental for $39, 864 . 36 as evidenced in Exhibit A; and, WHEREAS, the City requires the rental extension of the John Deere 750K dozer for another six (6) months to continue efficient and compliant operations . That the City Manager is authorized to extend the rental of the John Deere 750K dozer from Doggett Heavy Machinery Services of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for six (6) months for a not-to-exceed amount of $39, 864 . 36 being subject to final approval by the City Council.
