Approval of van purchase
Attached is a copy the e-mail I received from our Grant Coordinator,
Stephen Meyer. The approval for the purchase of a van instead of
leasing it has been given. The difference in the pnces does not
move the program out of the 10% guideline rule.

You have the permission of the Bureau of Justice Assistance to purchase
a van previously approved to be leased. In accordance with the 10%
rule, it is not necessary to resubmit a budget in this instance.

Mr. Meyer,
I am in need of your expertise. Our grant has been budgeted for the
LEASE of a van. The Executive Officer of the grant has decided it would
be more economical to purchase the van. The difference in the price
for LEASING and PURCHASING will not move the grant out of the 10% rule.
I need your decision on this ntatter as soon as possible. The Executive
Officer wants to purchase the van within the next week. Your promp~
answer will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Wanda Gant. Program Manager, Com~aunlty Prosecution Program, Port
Arthur, Texas
