No.15117 2/17/2009 RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PAYMENT OF INVOICES FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES TO SCIENCE ENGINEERING, LTD. FOR CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL TESTING FOR THE JADE AVENUE EXPANSION PROJECT DESIGNED AND ENGINEERED BY.ARCENEAUX & GATES CONSULTING ENGINEERS, INC. WHEREAS, the City Council approved Ordinance No. 04-61 and Resolution No. OS-163 pertaining to the approval and payment process of the City of Port Arthur Section 4A Economic Development Corporation; and WHEREAS, the City Council approved Resolution No. 07-242, the Professional Engineering Design and Construction services contract, for the extension of Jade Avenue to Hwy 365 at the Spur 93 Economic Development Business Park with Arceneaux & Gates Consulting Engineers, Inc; and WHEREAS, the City Council authorized the City Port Arthur Section 4A Economic Development Corporation to award a bid to Excavators and Constructors for the construction of Jade Avenue Extension outside the Business Park located at 9555 W Port Arthur road~to Hwy 365 in the amount of up to $2,509,381.78; and WHEREAS, Arceneaux & Gates Consulting Engineers, Inc. sub-contracted with Science Engineering, LTD for: the Construction Materials Testing on the Jade Avenue Expansion Project and has forwarded the invoices totaling $10,335.50 without any mark- up; and WHEREAS, the invoices denoted in Exhibit "A" were approved .by the Port Arthur Section 4A Economic Development Corporation Boazd at its January 26, 2009 regular meeting. , ` NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: Section I. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That the invoices attached as Exhibit "A" (510,355.50) are hereby approved to be paid by the City of Port-Arthur Section 4A Economic Development Corporation. Section 3. That a copy of the caption. of the Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
