R.# 15214, 2009 Streets Program DATE: 15 April 2009 RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council approve Proposed Resolution No. 15214 approving the 2009 Streets Program. Funds are available in account 001-1203-531.86-00. BACKGROUND: The proposed 2009 Streets Program was presented to the City Council via a memo dated 23 March 2009. Based on input received from Councilmembers, the list of proposed streets to be reconstructed was revised to add locations in Port Acres. To compensate, Ashland Drive was made an alternate. BUDGETARY/FISCAL EFFECT: Funds are available in account 001-1203-531.86-00. EMPLOYEE/STAFF EFFECT: None. A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 2009 CITY STREETS PROGRAM IN THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR, WITH FUNDING AVAILABLE IN THE FY 2009 GENERAL FUND BUDGET 001-1203-531.86-00. WHEREAS, the Public Works Department of the City of Port Arthur has developed a 2009 City Streets Program as shown on Exhibit "A", attached hereto and made a part hereof; and, WHEREAS, a preliminary report on this recommendation has been previously made available by memo to the City Council, dated March 23, 2009 attached as Exhibit "B"and revised according to responses received from councilmembers; and, WHEREAS, funding for the City Streets Program is available in the FY 2009 Budget Account 001-1203-531.86-OO;and, WHEREAS, the timely approval of these recommendations will allow City street work to proceed at the earliest possible date, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: THAT, the recommended 2009 City Streets Program as shown on Exhibit "A", is hereby approved; and, THAT, the City staff is hereby instructed to take all steps necessary to effect the above referenced 2009 City Streets Program in a timely and cost-effective manner; and, P.R.
