A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER
A ZONING CHANGE "SF" (SINfGLE-FAMILY) TO "LC" (LIGHT
COMMERCIAL) FOR A PORTIONf OF LOT # 11, BLOCKS 1 AND
12 O.OOF PORT ACRES ADDITION), AN ACRE LOT ALSO
DESCRIBED AS 6555 JADE AVENUE (AKA AVENUE B) IN THE
PORT ACR~'sS ADDITION, PORT ARTHUR, JEFFERSON COUNTY,
TEXAS
WHEREAS, the owner/applic<~nt - Mr. Richard Daley is
requesting that the City of Port Arthur consider this zoning
change for the area delineated in Exhibit "A" from "SF" Single
Family to "LC" Light Commercial; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant of Chapter 211 in the Texas Local
Government Code, a public hearing must precede any zoning change,
therefore,
NOW THERE:E'ORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PORT ARTHUR:
THAT the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and
correct.
THAT the ]Manning Commission approved this case on April 6,
2009.
THAT a public hearing to consider whether to grant this
applicant's the ~:oning change request on a portion of 6555 Jade
Avenue or 6.5479 acres of the 9.396 acres of land labeled Lot 11,
Block 1. and 12 of the Port Acres Addition, in Port Arthur,
Jefferson County, Texas, as delineated in Exhibit "A" shall be held
on June 2, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in t:he City Council Chambers, Fifth
Floor, City Hall, 444 Fourth Street.
THAT notice of the public hearing shall be published at
least fifteen days in the official newspaper of the City before
going to the City Council.
THAT a cc>py of the caption of this Resolution be spread
upon
the Minutes of the City Council.
READ, ADOPTED A-ND APPROVED this _ day of
