HomeMy WebLinkAboutPR 22185: APPROVING JANITORIAL CONTRACT WITH QUEST MAINTENANCE FOR THE PRESS BUILDING (4r PORT*ARTWR ONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM Date: October 12,2021 To: The Honorable Mayor and City Council Through: Ronald Burton,City Manager From: George Davis,Interim CEO,PAED RE: PR 22185—Approving a janitorial contract between the PAEDC and Quest Maintenance Services,LLC for cleaning of 549 4th Street("The Press Building") Introduction: The intent of this Agenda Item is to seek City Council's approval for the Port Arthur EDC to enter into a janitorial services contract for Areas C&D of 549 46 Street("The Press Building"). Background: The Press Building has four areas(A,B,C&D). Areas C&D are currently being utilized by Lamar State College Port Arthur and is in need of a janitorial services contract. Quest Maintenance Services was the lowest qualified bid at$1,565.00 per month. This is a three month contract, renewable for three additional months, contingent upon completion of construction of the building. Once the building is complete, there will be another bid for janitorial services. Budget Impact: The cost of this janitorial services contract is$1,565.00 per month.Funds available in Account No. 120- 80-625-5312-00-00-000. Recommendation: It is recommended that the City Council of the City of Port Arthur approve janitorial services contract between the City of Port Arthur Section 4A Economic Development Corporation and Quest Maintenance Services,LLC. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR SECTION 4A ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION TO ENTER INTO A JANITORIAL SERVICES CONTRACT WITH QUEST MAINTENANCE SERVICES, LLC FOR AREAS C&D OF THE PRESS BUILDING LOCATED AT 549 4TH STREET IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,565.00 PER MONTH. FUNDS AVAILABLE IN ACCOUNT NO. 120-80- 625-5312-00-00-000. WHEREAS,the City Council deems it is the public interest to authorize the City of Port Arthur Section 4A Economic Development Corporation (the "PAEDC") to retrofit the property located at 549 4th Street in downtown Port Arthur; and WHEREAS, Areas C & D are currently being utilized by Lamar State College Port Arthur; and WHEREAS, Quest Maintenance Services, LLC is an approved vendor with the City of Port Arthur Purchasing Department; and WHEREAS, the Port Arthur Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors approved this contract at their regular board meeting on October 4, 2021; and WHEREAS, Quest Maintenance Services, LLC will provide janitorial services as described in Exhibit"A" attached hereto for a period of three (3) months, renewable for three (3) months contingent upon completion of construction of the entire building. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That the City Council approves the janitorial services contract for 549 4th Street between the City of Port Arthur Section 4A Economic Development Corporation and Quest Maintenance Services,LLC in the amount of$1,565.00 per month for a period of three(3)months, renewable for three (3) additional months as described in Exhibit"A"attached hereto. Section 3. That a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council. A thirty(30) day written notice of cancellation is required by either party wishing to terminate this contract.
