RE: 2021 Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus Utility Assistance Program
Dear Ms. Essex,
As we have discussed, the expiration date for the above referenced contract is January 18,
2022. I am grateful City Council approved amendments to the initial client eligibility
requirements at their meeting on September 21, 2021. I believe these amendments will aide in
helping us identify more residents of Port Arthur who can be served with these funds.
I am respectfully requesting a three-month extension of the contract to allow more time to
identify clients who meet the eligibility requirements for assistance under this grant.
Please feel free to call me at 409-924-4412 if you would like to discuss this request in more
detail. I can also be reached by email at cfernandez a@,catholiccharitiesbmt.org.
Thank you in advance for consideration of our request.
Sincerely,
