Unit No. 1598 has reached the end of its expected life and needs to be replaced. Recommendation: It is recommended that City Council approve the City Manager to purchase the skidsteer, as discussed and/or outlined above. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) S66 T4 BOBCAT SKIDSTEER FROM BOBCAT OF BEAUMONT FROM BEAUMONT, TEXAS THROUGH BUYBOARD COOPERATIVE PURCHASING PROGRAM, CONTRACT NO. 597-19 FOR THE WATER UTILITIES DEPARTMENT FOR USE IN THE DAILY OPERATIONS OF THE WASTEWATER CONVEYANCE DIVISION FOR THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $55,928.56; FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE IN WATER UTILITIES ACCOUNT NO. 625-40-000-8522-00-00-000,EQUIPMENT. WHEREAS,the Wastewater Conveyance Division of the Water Utilities Department uses a skidsteer in its operations; and, WHEREAS, Unit No. 1598 has reached the end of its expected life and needs to be replaced; and, WHEREAS,this equipment is an essential part of plant operations; and, WHEREAS, Chapter 271 of the Texas Government Code allows a city, by resolution of its governing body, to participate in cooperative purchasing programs, such as BuyBoard Cooperative Purchasing Program, as an alternative to formal bid process; and, WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 02-341, the City of Port Arthur entered into an interlocal agreement for cooperative purchasing with the Buyboard Cooperative Purchasing Program; and, WHEREAS,the Wastewater Conveyance Division has solicited a Buyboard Cooperative Purchasing Program quote for one (1) S66 T4 Bobcat Skidsteer from Bobcat of Beaumont from Beaumont, Texas, as delineated in our Purchasing Policy; and, WHEREAS, the quote from Buyboard, through Bobcat of Beaumont from Beaumont, Texas provided the bid attached as EXHIBIT"A", meets our specifications. PR No. 22407 2/22/22 bw Page 2 of 3 NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY CITY COUNCIL OF CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: THAT, City Council hereby authorizes the purchase of one (1) S66 T4 Bobcat Skidsteer from Bobcat of Beaumont from Beaumont, Texas through the Buyboard Cooperative Purchasing Program in the amount of$55,928.56; and, THAT, funding for this equipment is provided for in Account No. 625-40-000-8522-00- 00-000, Equipment; and, THAT,a copy of the caption of this resolution be spread upon the minutes of City Council.
