These materials will be utilized by the Public Works Department, Streets Division for street maintenance, the City Streets Program, and streets funded under the CDBG program. hese bids will be in efrect fora roximatel one 1 ear. BACKGROUND: These are annual contracts for ROAD BUILDING MATERIALS that will be used by the Streets Division for maintenance and construction. Bids were received and opened for these materials on 20 May 2009. Bids were received from six (6) vendors as shown in the table below. The cost and time savings by being able to pick-up locally rather ian driving to Beaumont for APAC, more than offsets the unit cost difference. are budgeted in accounts 001-1203-531.36/86-00 and CDBG recommend that the City Council award the bids for annual purchase of Streets materials -ROAD BUILDING MATERIALS Transit Mix Concrete & Materials, APAC -Texas, AMF Materials & Transport, and Vulcan Construction Materials, LP as listed ove. These materials will be utilized by the Public Works Department, Streets Division for street maintenance, the Gty ~eets Program, and streets funded under the CDBG program.
