This resolution authorizes the staff to solicit proposals for an evaluation of the energy use of the City and prepare a conservation strategy for the City. This process will start immediately, and a contract recommendation will be returned to City Council for consideration and approval. P. R N0.15345 RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO REQUEST PROPOSALS FROM QUALIFIED FIRMS TO EVALUATE THE CURRENT ENERGY USE AND DEVELOP AN ENERGY. EFFICIENCY AND CONSERVATION STRATEGY FOR THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR WHEREAS, the City has applied for an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Chant, through the United States Department of Energy, American Recovery and Relief Act (ARRA) funding, and; WHEREAS, this program requires the City to submit an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy (EEGs) within 120 days of the date of the awazd, and; WHEREAS, the City desires to develop a strategic, measurable program to reduce energy use. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: THAT, the City Manager is hereby authorized to request proposals from firms qualified in energy efficiency studies of public organizations. THAT, the City Manager shall return his evaluation of the proposals, along with the scope of work and contract, to the Council for consideration and approval.
