Smith, RN, BSN, Director of Health Services lit15 RE: Approval for TDFPS to add additional funding for FY 2022 Nature of the Request: Texas Department of Family and Protective Services has provided grant funds to the health department's NFP Program for FY 2022. The Program is desiring to provide an additional nurse for this fiscal year. They are desiring to add an additional $53,248.00 to the previous award of$728,215.32 for a total of$781,463.32 Staff Analysis, Considerations: This grant will cover the cost of an additional nurse home visitor for fiscal year 2022. Recommendations: It is recommended that the City Council approve P.R. No.22597, approving the contract amendment between the City of Port Arthur and the Department of Family and Protective Services adding funding for FY 2022. Budget Considerations: The total amount of the grant shall not exceed $781,463.32 for FY 2022. No city match is required. A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CONTRACT AMENDMENT BETWEEN THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF FAMILY AND PROTECTIVE SERVICES AND THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR NURSE-FAMILY PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM TO ADD $53,248.00 FOR FY 2022 NOT TO EXCEED $781,463.32 WHEREAS, the State of Texas, by and through the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) awarded grant funds to eligible entities to support the establishment and operation of local Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP)program to provide educational, health, guidance, and other resources for low-income, first-time pregnant women during pregnancy, and during the first two years of their infant's life through visits by highly trained registered nurses; and, WHEREAS, the City of Port Arthur Health Department has been a recipient of these grant funds since 2009; and, WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) awarded $728,215.32 for FY 2022, and now desires to add an additional $53,248.00 not exceeding $781,463.32. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: Section 1. That,the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That, the City Council of the City of Port Arthur hereby authorizes increasing the award amount between Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) and the City of Port Arthur for the Nurse-Family Partnership Program for the total amount of$781,463.32 for FY 2022 as delineated in Exhibit"A."
