No. 12126 documenting that pursuant to the amendment of Section 9 of Article II of the City Charter approved at the May 2, 1992 City Election in the City of Port Arthur, Texas, the District 4 Councilmember shall rotate in and serve as Mayor Pro Tem and shall act as Mayor during the absence or disability of the Mayor and shall serve as Mayor until the next regular election of Councilmembers. A RESOLUTION DOCUMENTING TEAT PURSUANT TO THE AMENDMENT OF SECTION 9 OF ARTICLE II OF THE CITY CHARTER APPROVED AT TEE MAY 2, 1992 CITY ELECTION IN THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS, THE DISTRICT 4 COUNCILMEMBER SEALL SERVE AS ~AYOR PRO TEM AND SEALL ACT AS MAYOR DURING THE ABSENCE OR DISABILITY OF THE MAYOR AND SHALL SERVE AS MAYOR UNTIL THE NEXT REGULAR ELECTION OF COUNCILMEMBERS WHEREAS, as a result of the election on May 2, 1992, Section 9 of Article II of the City Charter of the City of Port Arthur, Texas, was amended to provide that at the first City Council meeting following each regular election of Councilmembers, beginning with the 1992 election, the office of Mayor Pro Tem shall rotate in sequence beginning with District 1, as specified in said amendment; and WHEREAS, it is advisable to adopt this Resolution in order to reflect compliance with said amended Charter provision; and WHEREAS, there was a regular election of Councilmembers on May 3, 2003. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT A~THUR: Section 1. true and correct. Section 2.
