OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR
Notice is hereby given in accordance with the revised Civil Statutes and the Zoning
Ordinance of the City of Port Arthur, that the City Council of the City of Port Arthur
will hold a Public Heating on Tuesday, May 13, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. in the Port Arthur
City Hall Council Chamber, 444 4th Street, to consider the following:

REQUEST:
The applicant is requesting that a Specific Use Permit be approved for a Commercial
Antenna Support Structure at 5037 Gulfway Dr.
BACKGROUND:
The applicant proposes to construct a antenna support tower at this location for a cellular
telephone (Vexizon) antenna. The proposed anterma would be 185 feet in height.
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
The Planning and Zoning Commission met on Monday, March 3, 2003 to consider this
request. The Commission requested additional information from the applicant. The
application was recommended for approval at the March 31,2003 meeting. The Commission
recommended approval subject m the following conditions:
1. That the support structure be a monopole constructed to withstand a minimum wind-
speed of 120 MPH.
2. That the structure be built to enable the co-location of a minimum of two additional
providers.
3. That a close mount antenna be used.
