RECO1VIMENDATION:
The City Council's authorization and approval is requested to award King's Pharmacy of Port Arthur,
Texas for an mount of $6,384 for Hepatitis B Vaccine shots for police officers.
BACKGROUND:
The Police Deparm~ent decided to give Hepatitis B Vaccine Shots to police officers as a preventive
measure for officers who may be exposed to people carrying the Hepatitis B Vkus. Eacli shot consisted of
three injections Shots were given to thirty-eight officers. Each mjectton cost $56. Shots were given on a
voluntary basis. Officers contacted Health Director Emestine Wade and she ordered the vaccination for the
Police Department. The following quotes were received
King's Pharmacy $56
Pat Wood Pharmacy $62
Metcalf's Discount Pharmacy $62
BUDGETARY AND FISCAL EFFECT:
Funding is available in account number 001-1101-521.54-00.
STAFFING EFFECT:
None.
SUNLMARY:
The City Council's authorization and approval is requested to award King's Pharmacy of Port Arthur,
Texas in the amount 0£$6.384 for Hepatitis B Vaccine Shots for police officers.
