Re: PO - 6020 An Ordinance Amending the Budget
This budget amendment provides $630,258 in additional funds for the Transit Department to fund six (6)
Transit Vans from National Bus Sales of Marietta, Georgia. Funding for the procurement is provided
(83%) under the F.T.A. Temporary Capital Grant #PA5307 in the amount of $523,114.14 and matching
city funds (17%) in the amount of $107,143.86.
The City Attorney's budget be increased $10,000 to fund extra expenses in the Attorneys office.
In addition, this amendment also provides $1,600,000 to the Solid Waste budget for overtime, vehicle
maintenance, landfill construction, contractual services and rent.
Section 2. That the Transit Fund budget be increased $630,258 to fund six (6) Paza-transit
Vans from National Bus Sales of Marietta, Georgia.

That there be and is hereby appropriated the sum of Fifty Two Million, Seventy One Thousand,
Six Hundred Thirty Seven Dollars ($52,061,637) to the General Fund for the payment of the Operating
Expenses, and necessary capital outlay for the City government for the following departments and uses:

Section 4. That the Solid Waste budget be increased $1,600,000 to fund overtime,
($260,000) vehicle maintenance ($355,000), landfill construction ($640,000), Streets ($135,000) and
Rent ($30,000) and Contractual services ($180,000).

ORDINANCE NO.
AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AMENDING
THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
BEGINNING OCTOBER I, 2008 AND ENDING
SEPTEMBER 30, 2009
WHEREAS, in accordance with Article XII, Section 9, of the City Charter, the City Council
may make emergency appropriations from time to time; and
WHEREAS, the City Council may make budget amendments for emergencies under Section
102.009 and for Municipal purposes under Section 102.010 Loca] Government Code.
WHEREAS, on September 9, 2008, the City Council approved and adopted Ordinance 08-94
which appropriated the 2008-2009 budget; and
WHEREAS, on November 4, 2008, the City Council approved and adopted Ordinance OS-110
which amended Ordinance 08-94; and
WHEREAS, on December 30, 2008, the City Council approved and adopted Ordinance 08-125
which amended Ordinance OS-94; and
WHEREAS, on January 13, 2009 the City Council approved Ordinance 09-03 which amended
Ordinance 08-94; and
WHEREAS, on February 24, 2009, the City Council approved Ordinance 09-19 which amended
Ordinance 08-94;and
WHEREAS, on Mazch 24, 2009, the City Council approved Ordinance 09-21 which amended
Ordinance 08-94; and
WHEREAS, on April 7, 2009, the City Council approved Ordinance 09-27 which amended
Ordinance 08-94; and
WHEREAS, on May 19, 2009, the City Council approved Ordinance 09-41 which amended
Ordinance 08-94;and
WHEREAS, on June 2, 2009, the City Council approved Ordinance 09-43 which amended
Ordinance 08-94; and
WHEREAS, on June 16, 2009 the City Council approved Ordinance 09-47 which amended
Ordinance 08-94;and
WHEREAS, this amendment is necessary for municipal purposes to meet unusual and
unforeseen conditions as delineated in Section 102.009 (c) Local Government Code.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR
