Funds available in EDC account No. 120-80-625-8522-00-00-000 Introduction: The intent of this resolution is to authorize the City of Port Arthur Section 4A Economic Development Corporation approving a quote from Panama Equipment of Cleveland, Texas and engaging their services to purchase and install a 200kw 3 phase natural gas generator at the PAEDC office building located at 501 Procter Street. Background: For the safety and comfort of the tenants of the office building at 501 Procter Street, the PAEDC intends to purchase and install a backup generator for the building. Quotes were requested of the following vendors: A&A Electric, Jefferson Electric, Panama Equipment, and Newtron Electric. Quotes were submitted by the following vendors: Panama Equipment and Jefferson Electric. At their Regular Board Meeting of January 10, 2023, the PAEDC Board of Directors approved acceptance of the quote submitted by Panama Equipment as it was the lowest price. Recommendation: It is recommended that the City Council of the City of Port Arthur authorize the City of Port Arthur Section 4A Economic Development Corporation approving a quote from Panama Equipment of Cleveland, Texas and engaging their services to purchase and install a 200kw 3 phase natural gas generator at the PAEDC office building located at 501 Procter Street. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR SECTION 4A ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION APPROVING A QUOTE FROM PANAMA EQUIPMENT OF CLEVELAND, TEXAS AND ENGAGING THEIR SERVICES TO PURCHASE AND INSTALL A 200KW 3 PHASE NATURAL GAS GENERATOR AT THE EDC OFFICE BUILDING LOCATED AT 501 PROCTER STREET; IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $192,142.86. FUNDS AVAILABLE IN EDC ACCOUNT NO. 120-80-625- 8522-00-00-000 WHEREAS, the City of Port Arthur Section 4A Economic Development Corporation (PAEDC) owns the property located at 501 Procter Street, Port Arthur. Texas and has the commitment to maintain the safety and integrity of said premises; and WHEREAS, a whole-building generator provides emergency power to keep an organization active during a power outage; and WHEREAS,for the safety and comfort of the tenants, a generator is necessary; and WHEREAS,the PAEDC obtained two quotes for the purchase and installation of a whole- building generator for the office building at 501 Procter Street; and WHEREAS, Panama Equipment has provided the lowest quote that includes the purchase of the generator, electrical labor, gas line labor, concrete labor, engineered drawings, galvanized platform and complete generator start-up, as described in Exhibit"A"; and WHEREAS, at their January 10, 2023 Regular Board Meeting, the PAEDC Board of Directors approved the quote submitted by Panama Equipment for their services for a generator to be installed at 501 Procter Street in the amount of$192,142.86. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That the City Council authorizes PAEDC to approve the Panama Equipment quote and engage their services to purchase and install a generator at 501 Procter Street in the amount of$192,142.86. Section 3. That a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
