SLAB LOCATED AT 2014 WIGNALL AVENUE,IN THE AMOUNT OF$1,200.00.
COMMENT
Nature of the Request:
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt P. R.No.23002 approving Change Order No. 1 to the 12/15/2022(Group C-T)
contract with Straight Line Services of Buna,Texas in the amount of$27,783.80 for demolition of five(5)residential structures
with transite located throughout the city. Change Order No. 1 is for the removal of the second slab located at 2014 Wignall
Avenue,increasing the contract amount by$1,200.00.
Staff Analysis/Considerations:
On November 22,2022,City Council approved Resolution No. 22-532 awarding the contract for Group C-T to Straight Line
Services of Buna,Texas in the amount of$27,783.80,for demolition of five(5)residential properties with transite. On February
16,2023,a double slab was discovered at 2014 Wignall Avenue.Change Order No. 1 is for the removal of the second slab.This
brings the contract to a new total of$28,983.80.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt P. R.No.23002 thereby authorizing the City Manager to approve Change Order
No. 1 Group C-T with Straight Line Services of Buna,Texas. Change Order No. 1 for the removal of the second slab located
2014 Wignall Avenue, increasing the contract amount by$1,200.00.
Budget Consideration:
Acceptance of this recommendation will not require a budget amendment. Funding is available in Account No. 001-13-035-
5470-00-10-000(General Fund;Other Contractual Service).

2014 WIGNALL AVENUE, INCREASING THE CONTRACT
AMOUNT BY $1,200.00 TO A NEW TOTAL NOT TO EXCEED
AMOUNT OF$28,983.80;ACCOUNT NO.001-13-035-5470-00-10-000
(GENERAL FUND-OTHER CONTRACTUAL SERVICE)
WHEREAS, on November 22, 2022, City Council approved Resolution No. 22-532 awarding the contract for
Group C-T to Straight Line Services of Buna, Texas in the amount of $27,783.80, for demolition of five (5)
residential structures with transite located throughout the City; and
WHEREAS,on February 16,2023,a double slab was discovered;and a Change Order was submitted to remove
the unexpected second slab located at 2014 Wignall Avenue;in the amount$1,200.00,attached hereto as Exhibit"A".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
ARTHUR:
THAT,the City Council of the City of Port Arthur hereby approves Change Order No. 1 to the December 15,
2022(Group C-T)contract with Straight Line Services of Buna,Texas, increasing the contract amount by$1,200.00
to a new total not to exceed amount of$28,983.80,attached hereto as Exhibit"A".
THAT a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
