Staffing Analysis, Considerations: None Recommendation: Purchasing is requesting that City Council approve PO No. 7137 authorizing the sale of non- technology items through Rene Bates Auctioneers. Technology Equipment will be sold through Global Assets Contract. Technology equipment include computer equipment, televisions, fax machines, copier, etc. Budget Consideration: None P. O. No. 7137 03/17/2023 Page 1 ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS FURNITURE & MINOR EQUIPMENT THROUGH RENE BATES AUCTIONEERS, INC. AND TECHNOLOGY EQUIPMENT THROUGH GLOBAL ASSET,LLC WHEREAS, the City of Port Arthur has surplus property as described in Exhibit "A" to wit; assorted furniture, technology and minor equipment which has become obsolete and/or non- functional; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that it would be in the best interest of the City to sell said non technology property at an online auction to obtain the best possible price through Rene Bates Auctioneers, Inc.; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 22-454, the City entered into a Master it Recovery and Recycle Agreement with Global Asset of Carrollton, Texas through BuyBoard Cooperative Purchasing Contract No. 661-22 for the disposition of technology assets; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that it would be in the best interest of the City to sell the technology properties through our contract with Global Asset. NOW,THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: Section 1. That the City Council authorizes the City Manager, together with the Purchasing Manager, pursuant to Article XIV, Section 7 of the Charter of the City of Port Arthur, to sell the above named surplus property at an auction, said property attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit"A". P 0 7137 P. O. No. 7137 03/17/2023 Page 2 Section 2. That the City Manager, together with the Purchasing Manager are hereby authorized and empowered to execute and deliver bills of sale or other instruments necessary to transfer title to said items at the price bid. Section 3. That this being an Ordinance not requiring publication the same shall take effect and be in force immediately from and after its passage. Section 4. That a copy of the caption of this Ordinance be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
