Request…City Council is being asked to consider an abandonment
request for a 0.019-Acre portion (840)square feet of a 4-
foot waterline easement.The easement is located at a
point in the northerly boundary line of Lot 8,Block 152,
City of Port Arthur,Jefferson County,TX
Procter Street,Lakeshore Drive,Shreveport Avenue,
and Mobile Avenue bound the area.

January 13, 2023 –Application for the abandonment was submitted to the Planning Division.
March 4-5 , 2023 –Public Notice published in Port Arthur Newspaper/notification sent to adjacent property owners within 200 ft.
A public hearing was held by the Planning and Zoning Commission on March 20, 2023, at 5:30 p.m.
The Planning Commission voted 4:0 recommending approval of said request.
On August 30, 2022, -City Council approved Res. No. 23-164,calling for a public hearing.
May 2, 2023 -Notification was mailed to adjacent property owners, as well as published in the Port Arthur Newspaper.

The purpose of the abandonment is to
allow access to the strip of land for the
continued construction of an apartment
complex.
