February 23, 2023 –Application for zoning change submitted to the Planning Division.
March 28, 202 –Public Notice published in Port Arthur Newspaper/notification sent to adjacent property owners within 200 ft.
A public hearing was held by the Planning and Zoning Commission on April 17, 2023, at 5:30 p.m.
The Planning Commission voted 4:0 -recommending denial of said request.
On April 11, 2023, City Council approved Res. No. 23-161, calling for a public hearing.
April 22, 2023 Notification was published in the Port Arthur Newspaper.

Commercial Retail “CR” (formerly referred to as Light Commercial “LC” ) –created to provide a location for general retail activities. These locations are generally along major thoroughfares and highways.
Proposed Zoning:
Commercial Retail (CR) with a Specific Use Permit (SUP) –A zoning amendment to allow a designated use at a designated location. Determined to be more intense or to have a potentially greater impact than a use permitted-by-right within the zoning district.
There will be no change in the CR zoning.
