It is determined the current unit, which cools and heats half of Hall A, needs replacement. Industrial and Commercial Mechanical (ICM) of Beaumont, TX can do this work for $123,911.00 out of account number 001-15-043-5312-00-20-000-. ANALYSIS/CONSIDERATION: The current HVAC RTU #6 needs replacement. It will take about 35 weeks for the unit to be delivered, then installation will follow. Because of this, the total cost of this work will come out of the Civic Center budget for Fiscal `23/'24. ICM of Beaumont, TX has provided a price for this work under the Buyboard cooperative contract# 638-21 in the amount of$123,911.00 out of account number 001-15-043-5312-00-20-000-. RECOMMENDATION A resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into an agreement with Industrial and Commercial Mechanical of Beaumont, TX to replace the current HVAC RTU#6 of the Civic Center in the amount of$123,911.00. WHEREAS, The Civic Center is in need of a new HVAC Rooftop Unit#6 to replace the current unit for the cooling and heating of half of Hall A; and WHEREAS, Industrial and Commercial Mechanical of Beaumont, TX can do this work for $123,911.00; and WHEREAS, Industrial and Commercial Mechanical of Beaumont, TX has a cooperative contract with Buyboard 638-21; and, WHEREAS, Chapter 271 of the Local Government Code allows a city, by resolution of its governing body,to participate in cooperative purchasing programs, such as Buyboard, a purchasing cooperative, as an alternative to a formal bid process; and WHEREAS, per Resolution No. 02-341, the City entered into an interlocal agreement for cooperative purchasing with the Buyboard Cooperative Purchasing Program ("Buyboard").now, therefore, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: THAT,the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct.
