OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR
Notice is hereby given in accordance with the Local Government Code and the Zoning
Ordinance of the City of Port Arthur, that the City Council of the City of Port Arthur v,411
hold a Public hearing on Tuesday, June 24 at 9:00 a.m. in the Port Arthur City Hall
Council Chambers, 444 4m Street, to consider the following:
PROPOSED CHANGE: From Planned Development - 20 and Planned
Development - I to Light Commercial.
LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
155 acre tract out of Lots 1, 2, 3, 7 & 8, Block 13,
Range "K", PALCO and Lots 1 - 4, 7 & 8, Block
12, Range "K" PALCO
LOCATION: South side of Hwy. 365, approximately 1900 feet
west of Hwy 69.
A precise drawing and description of this property will be presented at the Public Hearing
and can be examined in the Planning Department, City Hall, Port Arthur, Texas

REQUEST:
The applicant is requesting that this 155 acre tract located on the south side of Hwy 365
approximately 1900 west of Hwy 69 be rezoned to Light Commercial.
BACKGROUND:
This 155 acre tract of land includes the proposed Iasis Hospital and Medical Office
Building sites. Access will be provided by an extension of Jimmy Johnson Blvd. and a 4-
lane road from Hwy 365 to the hospital site. The construction of these roads will open
additional area to development.
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
The Planning and Zoning Commission met on Monday, June 16, 2003 and recommended
that this request be approved. They felt that the proposed use would be appropriate for
the area.

14 property owners were notified of the proposed zoning change.
