AMOUNT OF$4,900.00.
COMMENT
Nature of the Request:
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt P.R.No.23233 thereby ratifying Change Order No. 1 to the May 24,2023(Group
B-T)contract with Lark Group, Inc., of Warren,Texas in the amount of$40,232.00 for demolition of seven(7)residential
structures with transite located throughout the City. Change Order No. 1 removes 1004 Pecos Avenue, decreasing the contract
amount by$4,900.00.
Staff Analysis/Considerations:
On May 9,2023, City Council approved Resolution No.23-204 awarding the contract for Group B-t to Lark Group,Inc.,of
Warren,Texas in the amount of$40,232.00,for demolition of seven(7)residential properties with transite. On June 27,2023,
Change Order No. 1 was executed removing 1004 Pecos Avenue to allow the owner to make repairs. This brings the contract to
a new total of$35,332.00.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt P.R.No.23233 thereby ratifying Change Order No. 1 to the May 24,2023 contract
(Group B-t) with Lark Group, Inc., of Warren, Texas. Change Order No. 1 removes 1004 Pecos Avenue, decreasing the
contract amount by$4,900.00,resulting in a new contract amount of$35,332.00.
Budget Consideration:
Acceptance of this recommendation will not require a budget amendment. Funding is available in Account No. 001-13-035-
5470-00-10-000(General Fund;Other Contractual Service).

A RESOLUTION RATIFYING CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 TO THE
CONTRACT WITH LARK GROUP, INC., OF WARREN, TEXAS
(GROUP B-T). REMOVING 1004 PECOS AVENUE,DECREASING
THE CONTRACT AMOUNT BY $4,900.00 TO A NEW TOTAL OF
$35,332.00; ACCOUNT NO. 001-13-035-5470-00-10-000 (GENERAL
FUND-OTHER CONTRACTUAL SERVICE)
WHEREAS, on May 9, 2023, City Council approved Resolution No. 23-204 awarding the contract for Group
B-t to Lark Group, Inc., of Warren, Texas in the amount of$40,232.00, for demolition of seven (7) residential
structures with transite located throughout the City; and
WHEREAS,on June 27, 2023,a Change Order was executed to remove 1004 Pecos Avenue(owner repairing)
from the contract;thereby reducing the contract amount by$4,900.00,attached hereto as Exhibit"A".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
ARTHUR:
THAT,the City Council of the City of Port Arthur hereby ratifies Change Order No. 1 to the May 24, 2023
(Group B-t)contract with Lark Group,Inc.,of Warren,Texas,decreasing the contract amount by$4,900.00 to a
new total of$35,332.00,attached hereto as Exhibit"B".
THAT a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
