R. NO. 23252 — RATIFYING CHANGE ORDER N I. 1 TO 07/19/2023 CONTRACT (GROUP B) WITH LARK GROUP,INC., FOR THE REMOVAL OF 436 W. 17TH STREET,IN THE AMOUNT OF$4,000.00. COMMENT Nature of the Request: Staff recommends that the City Council adopt P. R.No. 23252 thereby ratifying Change Order No. 1 to the 07/19/2023 (Group AI contract with Lark Group, Inc., in the amount of$31,200.00 for demolition of seven (7) residential structures located throughout the city. Change Order No. 1 removes 436 W. 17'Street,decreasing the contract amount by$4,000.00. Staff Analysis/Considerations: On June 20,2023, City Council approved Resolution No. 23-268 awarding the contract for Group B to Lark Group, Inc.,in the amount of$31,200.00,for demolition of seven(7)residential properties. On July 5,2023,Change Order No. 1 was executed removing 436 W. 17'Street due to new owner. This brings the contract to a new total of$27,200.00. Recommendation: Staff recommends that the City Council adopt P.R.No.23252 thereby ratifying Change Order No. 1 to the July 19,2023 contract (Group B)with Lark Group,Inc.,of Warren,Texas. Change Order No. 1 removes 436 W. 17"Street,decreasing the contract amount by$4,000.00,resulting in a new contract amount of$27,200.00. Budget Consideration: Acceptance of this recommendation will not require a budget amendment. Funding is available in Account No. 001-13-035- 5470-00-10-000(General Fund;Other Contractual Service). REMOVING 436 W. 17TH STREET, DECREASING THE CONTRACT AMOUNT BY $4,000.00 TO A NEW TOTAL OF $27,200.00; ACCOUNT NO. 001-13-035-5470-00-10-000 (GENERAL FUND-OTHER CONTRACTUAL SERVICE) WHEREAS, on June 20, 2023, City Council approved Resolution No. 23-268 awarding the contract for Group B to Lark Group, Inc., in the amount of$31,200.00, for demolition of seven (7) residential structures located throughout the City; and WHEREAS,on July 5,2023,a Change Order was executed to remove 436 W. 17th Street (due to new owner); thereby reducing the contract amount by $4,000.00, attached hereto as Exhibit"A". NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: THAT,the City Council of the City of Port Arthur hereby ratifies Change Order No. 1 to the July 19, 2023 (Group B) contract with Lark Group, Inc., of Warren, Texas decreasing the contract amount by $4,000.00, to a new total of$27,200.00, attached hereto as Exhibit"A". THAT a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
