HomeMy WebLinkAbout(P 4) District 3 Code Enforcement Issues (2)CITY OF PORT ARTHUR DISTRICT 3 CODE OF ORDINANCES VIOLATIONS July –August 2023 Presented by Doneane Beckcom Council Member District 3 Issues in District 3: Lack of Code Enforcement and City Services •High grass and weeds in multiple areas/neighborhoods/esplanades •Heavy trash/debris/tree limb piles sitting for weeks/months •Dilapidated houses/structures that need to be red tagged •Red tagged houses not demolished for months/years •Multiple families/workers living in single family homes •Garages turned into living quarters in single family homes •Junk cars/trailers/cars parked in yards/18 wheelers/multiple cars at single family homes •Dilapidated business signs •Homeless encampments •Health and safety issues •Citizens have reported ALL of these and nothing has been done Ricefarm Road/Minaldi Place •Abandoned vehicle •Abandoned/empty home since Hurricane Harvey Ricefarm Road/Minaldi Place continued •Overgrown grass •Junk car has been there for months •Junk furniture and garbage under carport •Property owner has been notified by neighbors multiple times Lake Arthur/Golf Course •Christus Building purchased by PAISD •Status/timeline for completion?
