RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NOS. 21-542 AND 23-
149 AS IT PERTAINS TO THE ALLOCATION OF FUNDS FOR
ENGINEERING, DESIGN, AND CONSTRUCTION OF
INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT ALONG
WOODWORTH BOULEVARD BETWEEN SH 87 (GULFWAY DRIVE)
AND LAKESHORE DRIVE DECREASING THE FUNDING BY
$4,200,000.00 AND REALLOCATING THE FUNDING TOWARD
WATER AND SEWER PROJECTS ASSOCIATED WITH ROAD
REPAIRS (REQUESTED BY COUNCILMEMBER LEWIS)
WHEREAS, per Resolution No. 21-542, the City Council authorized the allocation
of funds for engineering, design, and construction of infrastructure improvements along
Woodworth Boulevard between SH 87 (Gulfway Drive) and Lakeshore Drive in the
projected budgetary amount of $3,000,000.00; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 23-149, the City Council amended
Resolution No. 21-542 increasing the funding by $4,200,000.00 to a new total allocation
of $7,200,000.00 for the Woodworth Project; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Lewis has requested that the Woodworth Project
funding be decreased by $4,200,000.00 and reallocate the funding toward water and
sewer projects associated with road repairs; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR:
THAT, the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct; and
THAT, the City Council of the City of Port Arthur hereby approve the amendment
to Resolution No. 21-542 and No. 23-149, decreasing the Woodworth Project funding by
$4,200,000.00; and
THAT, the $4,200,000.00 be reallocated towards water and sewer improvement
projects associated with roadway repairs; and
THAT, a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the
City Council.
