ABOUT THE TRACKS
Dallas, TX is one of the country's most economically and socially diverse cities. The 1920s were an
age of dramatic political. technological, and social change for some, yet not for others. In Dallas,
we'll usher in the next-generation 'Roaring 20s,' spotlighting how to build thriving, sustainable,
resilient, and equitable communities for tomorrow.
Our sights are set on ensuring future prosperity by focusing on economic diversity and resilience
now, building on past successes, and inspiring the next 'Roaring 20s!' This innovative Annual
Conference will explore, modernize, and grow successful industry strategies and practices by
focusing on each of IEDC's five strategic initiatives below.
Leadership Development
Gain understanding on the importance of community branding and its capacity
for creating, retaining, and attracting effective, forward-looking leaders.
Workforce & Talent Development
Scout and prioritize building human capital resiliency through sustainably
committing to raising the quality standards, accountability, strong school
leadership, innovative delivery methods, and diverse programming.
Supporting Entrepreneurship
Learn to recognize and create conditions for business, leveraging local talent,
resources, and assets to offer a welcomin
g and attractive setting for
entrepreneurs.
Fostering Economic Opportunity & Diversity
Dig into methods of addressing persistent challenges surrounding
economically disadvantaged neighborhoods, housing affordability,
gentrification, public transit, regional economic integration, immigration, and
socio-economic and demographic disparities.
Economic Transformation
Develop strategies to gauge potential threats and prepare tomorrow's
infrastructure to bolster resilient communities.

Purpose for IEDC Conference
The International Economic Development Council Conferences will offer me the
opportunity to network and build meaningful relationships with peers and other
experts in the field of economic development to share best practices; and to learn
new strategies from experienced innovative leaders from across the world.
Attendance along side our PAEDC presents a united front to the world and added
value as we build up a more positive reputation. These intensive learning and
networking experiences provide a wide range of dynamic opportunities for the City
of Port Arthur. An example is gaining direct access to a comprehensive set of grant
seeking tools and resources to help identify the appropriate grant makers for a
range of Economic Development programs or projects.
