COMMENT
Nature of the Request:
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt P.R.No.23334 thereby ratifying Change Order No. 1 to the 07/21/2023(Grou)
contract with Rise Up Refuse,LLC.,in the amount of$28,825.00 for demolition of seven(7)residential structures located
throughout the city. Change Order No. 1 removes 2249 196'Street,decreasing the contract amount by$3,000.00.
Staff Analysis/Considerations:
On June 20,2023,City Council approved Resolution No.23-270 awarding the contract for Group D to Rise Up Refuse,LLC.,
in the amount of$28,825.00, for demolition of seven(7)residential properties. On August 28,2023,Change Order No. 1 was
executed removing 2249 19th Street,due to owner demolition. This brings the contract to a new total of$25,825.00.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt P. R. No. 23334 thereby ratifying Change Order No. 1 to the July 21, 2023
contract(Group D)with Rise Up Refuse,LLC.,of Waco,Texas. Change Order No. 1 removes 2249 19th Street, decreasing
the contract amount by$3,000.00,resulting in a new contract amount of$25,825.00.
Budget Consideration:
Acceptance of this recommendation will not require a budget amendment. Funding is available in Account No. 001-13-035-
5470-00-10-000(General Fund;Other Contractual Service).

A RESOLUTION RATIFYING CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 TO
THE CONTRACT WITH RISE UP REFUSE, LLC., (GROUP
D). REMOVING 2249 19TH STREET, DECREASING THE
CONTRACT AMOUNT BY $3,000.00 TO A NEW TOTAL OF
$25,825.00; ACCOUNT NO. 001-13-035-5470-00-10-000
(GENERAL FUND-OTHER CONTRACTUAL SERVICE)
WHEREAS, on June 20, 2023, City Council approved Resolution No. 23-270 awarding the contract
for Group D to Rise Up Refuse,LLC.,in the amount of$28,825.00,for demolition of seven(7)residential
structures located throughout the City; and
WHEREAS, on August 28, 2023, a Change Order was executed to remove 2249 19th Street (due to
owner demolition); thereby reducing the contract amount by $3,000.00, attached hereto as Exhibit"A".
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
ARTHUR:
THAT,the City Council of the City of Port Arthur hereby ratifies Change Order No. 1 to the July 21,
2023 (Group D) contract with Rise Up Refuse, LLC., of Waco,Texas decreasing the contract amount by
$3,000.00,to a new total of$25,825.00, attached hereto as Exhibit"A".
THAT a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
READ, ADOPTED, AND APPROVED this the 26th day of September, A.D., 2023, at a Regular
Meeting of the City Council of the City of Port Arthur, Texas by the following vote:
