WITH LARK GROUP, INC., FOR THE REMOVAL OF 408 HALL STREET, IN THE AMOUNT
OF$4,700.00.
COMMENT
Nature of the Request:
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt P. R.No.23353 thereby ratifying Change Order No. 1 to the 07/19/2023(Group
Al contract with Lark Group,Inc.,in the amount of$28,600.00 for demolition of six(6)residential structures located throughout
the city. Change Order No. I removes 408 Hall Street,decreasing the contract amount by$4,700.00,.
Staff Analysis/Considerations:
On June 20,2023, City Council approved Resolution No. 23-267 awarding the contract for Group A to Lark Group, Inc.. in
the amount of$28,600.00, for demolition of six (6) residential properties. On September 7, 2023, Change Order No. 1 was
executed removing 408 Hall Street,due to residence being occupied.This brings the contract to a new total of$23,900.00.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt P. R. No. 23193 thereby ratifying Change Order No. 1 to the July 19, 2023
contract(Group A)with Lark Group, Inc.,of Warren,Texas. Change Order No. 1 removes 408 Hall Street,decreasing the
contract amount by$4,700.00,resulting in a new contract amount of$23,900.00.
BudRet Consideration:
Acceptance of this recommendation will not require a budget amendment. Funding is available in Account No. 001-13-035-
5470-00-10-000(General Fund:Other Contractual Service).

A RESOLUTION RATIFYING CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 TO
THE CONTRACT WITH LARK GROUP, INC., (GROUP A).
REMOVING 408 HALL STREET, DECREASING THE
CONTRACT AMOUNT BY $4,700.00 TO A NEW TOTAL OF
$23,900.00; ACCOUNT NO. 001-13-035-5470-00-10-000
(GENERAL FUND-OTHER CONTRACTUAL SERVICE)
WHEREAS, on June 20, 2023, City Council approved Resolution No. 23-267 awarding the contract
for Group A to Lark Group, Inc., in the amount of $28,600.00. for demolition of six (6) residential
structures located throughout the City; and
WHEREAS,on September 7, 2023, a Change Order was executed to remove 408 Hall Street (due to
residence being occupied); thereby reducing the contract amount by $4,700.00, attached hereto as Exhibit
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
ARTHUR:
THAT,the City Council of the City of Port Arthur hereby ratifies Change Order No. 1 to the July 19,
2023 (Group A) contract with Lark Group, Inc., of Warren, Texas decreasing the contract amount by
$4,700.00, to a new total of$23,900.00, attached hereto as Exhibit"A".
THAT a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
READ, ADOPTED. AND APPROVED this the 26th day of September, A.D., 2023. at a Regular
Meeting of the City Council of the City of Port Arthur,Texas by the following vote:
