No. 23397 authorizing the City Manager to apply for the Valero Community Investment Grant for park improvements and enhancements. Background: The City of Port Arthur supports community participation in improving the City's quality of life. Valero,its employees,and the Valero Energy Foundation are committed to improving the quality of life in communities where they work and live. This grant will go towards park improvements and enhancements. Budget Impact: None Recommendation: It is recommended that the City Council approve P.R.No. 23397 authorizing the City Manager to apply for the Valero Community Investment Grant for park improvements and enhancements. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR THE VALERO COMMUNITY INVESTMENT GRANT FOR PARK IMPROVEMENTS AND ENHANCEMENTS WHEREAS,the City Council has made "quality of life" for citizens a priority; and, WHEREAS, Valero, its employees, and the Valero Energy Foundation are committed to improving the quality of life in communities where they work and live; and, WHEREAS,this is an invitation only grant process; and, WHEREAS, the City of Port Arthur wishes to apply for the Valero Community Investment Grant for park improvements and enhancements; and, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS: Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to apply for the Valero Community Investment Grant for park improvements and enhancements as attached hereto as Exhibit"A". Section 3. That a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council. Click here for the description of each pillar. • Basic Needs ▪ Civic • Education • Healthcare • Funding request(s)must be submitted no less than two months prior to the decision date. • All funding requests for the calendar year must be submitted at the same time. • Unsolicited grant proposals or requests for funding submitted outside of the invitation only process will not be accepted.
