RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE PORT ARTHUR YOUTH
ADVISORY COUNCIL(YAC) (REQUESTED BY MAYOR PRO TEM HAMILTON)
WHEREAS, the Texas Municipal League convened the first Texas Youth Advisory Commission
Summit in 2001; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Arthur, Texas,established the Port Arthur Youth
Council pursuant to Ordinance No. 02-048; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Arthur, Texas, changed the name of the Port
Arthur Youth Council to the Port Arthur Youth Advisory Council (YAC) pursuant to Ordinance No. 02-
063; and,
WHEREAS, the terms of all prior appointed members of the Port Arthur Youth Advisory Council
(YAC) have expired; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it reasonable and prudent to appoint members to the Port
Arthur Youth Advisory Council (YAC) to execute the functions and duties delineated in Article XXII,
Section 14-682 of the City of Port Arthur Code of Ordinances.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PORT ARTHUR,TEXAS:
Section 1. That,the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct.
Section 2. That, the City Council considers the youth of Port Arthur to be a valuable, and key,
resource for the current and future growth, leadership and development of the city.
Section 3. That, the City Council hereby authorizes the appointment(s) of the individuals
delineated in Attachment"A"hereto pursuant to terms delineated in Resolution 15-115.
Section 4. That, a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the City Council.
