ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AS IT PERTAINS TO PROVIDING FOR
HOLIDAY PAY FOR FISCAL YEAR 2023/2024
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to provide all permanent full-time City
employees, including civil service and non-civil service employees, and full time City
temporary employees employed in the last pay period in December 2023 $300.00 in
holiday pay on December 29, 2023; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to also provide for holiday pay of $300.00 for
full-time temporary employees hired through a temp agency currently working at the City
of Port Arthur who were employed as of November 1, 2023.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PORT ARTHUR:
Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct.
Section 2. That the holiday pay shall be provided to all permanent, full-time, City
temporaries and all currently working temporary employees hired through temp agency as
of November 1, 2023, to receive $300.00 in holiday pay.
Section 3. That said money shall be paid from each Department's Payroll Account.
Section 4. That a copy of the caption of this Ordinance be spread upon the
Minutes of the City Council.
Section 5. That this being an Ordinance which does not carry a penalty, and does
not require publication, it shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.

READ, ADOPTED AND APPROVED on this day of December, A.D., 2023,
at a Council Meeting of the City Council of the City of Port Arthur, Texas, by the following
