RE: PR 23618 - Donation from Colonial Pipeline Company for Port Arthur Fire
Department Response Equipment and Personnel Training
Igtroduction:
The intent of this Agenda Item is to seek the City Council's approval of Proposed Resolution
23618 accepting a donation from Colonial Pipeline Company, Alpharetta, Georgia, in the total
amount of $17,500.00. The donation is for the Port Arthur Fire Department emergency
response equipment in the amount of$13,000.00 and personnel training in the amount of
$4,500.00.
Background:
The Port Arthur Fire Department received an offer for a donation from Colonial Pipeline
Company in support of emergency response equipment and training for personnel in the
management and mitigation of emergency incidents involving hazardous materials.
Budget Impact:
These funds will be deposited in Minor Equipment account#001-19-047-5240-00-30-000 for
$13,000.00 and Travel and Education account 001-19-5440-00-30-000 for$4,500.00 with no match.
Recommendation:
The Fire Department recommends approval of this resolution.

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
DONATION FROM COLONIAL PIPELINE COMPANY,
ALPHARETTA, GEORGIA FOR PORT ARTHUR FIRE DEPARTMENT
EMERGENCY RESPONSE EQUIPMENT AND TRAINING SUPPORT
IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $17, 500 . 00, WITH NO CASH
MATCH, APPROPRIATION CONTINGENT UPON ADOPTION OF
PROPOSED ORDINANCE NO. 7230 .
WHEREAS, the Port Arthur Fire Department received an
offer for a donation of $17 , 500 . 00 from Colonial Pipeline
Company, for the emergency response equipment and training in
preparation for incidents involving hazardous materials; and
WHEREAS, the Colonial Pipeline Company has offered a
donation of $13 , 000 . 00 for emergency response equipment and
$4 , 500 . 00 for training of personnel; and
WHEREAS, the funds will be deposited in City of Port
Arthur Account numbers Minor Equipment account # 001-19-047-
5240-00-30-000 for $13 , 000 . 00 and Travel and Education
account #001-19-5440-00-30-000 for $4 , 500 . 00 .
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PORT ARTHUR:
Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble
are true and correct .
Section 2 . That the City Council directs the City
Manager to accept the donation from Colonial Pipeline Company
for services, attached hereto as Exhibit "A" .
Section 3 . That a copy of the caption of this resolution
shall be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council .
READ, ADOPTED AND APPROVED on this day of March,
A.D. , 2024 , at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the

Colonial Pipeline Company would like to further our partnership with a donation for emergency
response gear in the amount of$13,000 as well as training at the Williams Extreme Fire
Training in the amount of$4,500.
We understand that you will take this offer to the City Council Meeting on or about February 27,
2024 for approval.
We appreciate the support we have received from the Port Arthur Fire Department since 2016
and look forward to continuing this partnership and cooperation with the Sabine Neches Chiefs'
Association (SNCA), Mutual Aid Organization.
