Laurel Street between closed Grandview Avenue and Locust Avenue, to produce one
tract to become Tract 1-A, Block 14, Fairlea Subdivision, City of Port Arthur,
Jefferson County, Texas. The property is located south of 39th Street and north of
Laurel Avenue. The zoning is "PD-25" for Planned Development - 25. The Fairlea
Addition was selected for expansion in 2005; it is the closest to the TOTAL Refinery
in the ETJ (Extra Territorial Jurisdiction). The industry has purchased most of the
houses and lots within the area. On August 18, 2008, the Planning & Zoning
Commission approved abandonment case A08-01, which consists of portions of Holly,
Terrell, and Laurel, and all of Grandview Avenue. Notices were sent out in compliance

Lot 25 being omitted to allow the City ingress/egress to the pond. This final plat
meets the requirements of the City's Subdivision Ordinance.

XI. REPORT FROM DIRECTOR
Ms. Russell informed the commissioners that City Council will discuss Mardi Gras festivities scheduled for
February 11 - 14, ?010. The price of admission for Thursday will increase from $1 to $5, due to the
increase in enterta ~ Maier t.
Beautification Committee is holding a "Family Happy-ndz Day" Celebration scheduled for September 26,
2009.
Weed and Seed, as sponsored by the City, will officially come to an end on September 30, 2009.
Mr. Cox asked about the plans for "Best Buy" coming into the City of Port Arthur. Ms. Russell explained
that there has been talk about the possibility, but no official word.
Ms. Russell informed the commission that a replat case has been submitted to the Planning Department
for the development of a "Jack-in-the-Box" to be located on Hwy. 347 (A.K.A. Twin City Highway).
XII. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Ms. Russell stated that there may be a possible increase in plat/replat cases submitted to P&Z.
XIII. ADJOURNMENT - Mr. Ramirez moved to adjourn the meeting. Ms. LeBlanc seconded the motion, which
