Duriso, Chief of Police (A'c'\o`� RE: PR 23899— Purchase of Training and software equipment from Advexure Unmanned System of Irvine, California through Sourcewell contract 011223- ADX in the amount of 24,019.80 Introduction: The intent of this Agenda Item is to seek the City Council's approval of Proposed Resolution 23899 authorizing the purchase of training and software equipment for the advanced accident reconstruction team from Advexure Unmanned Systems of Irvine, California through Sourcewell contract 011223-ADX for$24,019.80. Background: The Port Arthur Police Department is in need to purchase training and software equipment for the advanced accident reconstruction team. The current equipment is old and outdated and can no longer be supported by the manufacturer. The Police Department did acquire a bid for the most up to date current equipment and received a quote from Advexure Unmanned System through the Sourcewell contract 011223-ADX. Budget Impact: Funds for this purchase are available in account number 001-17-045-5450-00-30-000. Recommendation: It is recommended that the City Council approve the City Manager to authorize the purchase of training and software equipment for the Advanced Accident Reconstruction Team from Advexure Unmanned Systems of Irvine, California as discussed and or outlined above. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF TRAINING AND SOFTWARE EQUIPMENT FROM ADVEXURE UNMANNED SYSTEM OF IRVINE, CALIFORNIA THROUGH SOURCEWELL CONTRACT 011223-ADX IN THE AMOUNT OF 24 , 019 . 80 ; FUNDS AVAILABLE THROUGH ACCOUNT NUMBER 001-17-045-5450-00-30-000 . WHEREAS, the Port Arthur Police Department is in need of purchasing training and software equipment for the Advanced Accident Reconstruction Team from Advexure Unmanned System of Irvine, California through Sourcewell contract 011223-ADX; and WHEREAS, the current equipment is old and outdated and can no longer be supported by the manufacturer. The Police Department did acquire a bid for the most up-to-date current equipment and received a quote from Advexure Unmanned System in the amount of $24, 019. 80 (Exhibit "A") ; and WHEREAS, Chapter 271 of the Local Government Code allows a city, by resolution of its governing body, to participate in cooperative purchasing programs as an alternative to a formal bid process; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Res. 13-556, the City of Port Arthur is authorized to participate in cooperative purchasing with Sourcewell (formerly National Joint Powers Alliance) Cooperative Purchasing Program; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in account number 001-17-045-5450-00-30-000 . NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: Section 1 . That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2 . The City Council hereby authorizes the purchase training and software equipment from Advexure Unmanned System of Irvine, California through Sourcewell Contract 011223-ADX, in the total amount of $24, 019. 80 .
