What it takes to do Historical Restoration to a historically designated building
Approval by the Texas Historical Commission
Plans must be drawn up and meet minimum criteria for historical requirements set forth by the Commission, which include:
Fashion to which repairs are done
Establishing markers for determining if something is beyond repair and what are the options for replacement
Plans for monitoring the progression of restoration
These plans must be submitted to the Commission for review and approval
Determination of a qualified contractor
Monitoring of work to ensure it is being done as approved
Once work is completed, submission to the Commission for final approval and acceptance of work done.
All of this must be completed and approved by the Commission before a new phase can begin
