Duriso, Chief of Policed q`i'h " RE: P.R. 23912 —A resolution amending Resolution 24-101 to allow the Police Department to apply for the FY 2025 Project Safe Neighborhood Program, with no cash match. Introduction: The intent of this Agenda Item is to amend Resolution 24-101 to allow the Police Department to apply for FY2025 Project Safe Neighborhood Program, with no cash match. Background: Pursuant to Resolution 24-101, the City Council authorized the Police Department to apply for FY 2025 Project Safe Neighborhood program, with no cash match. The Port Arthur Police Department made application, and upon review of supporting documentation to apply for the grant to include the resolution, the US Department of Justice noticed that we did not include in the resolution that in the event of loss or misuse of US Department of Justice funds, the City Council assures that funds will be returned to the US Department of Justice. This amendment is to address that issue so that the application can be accepted. Budget Impact: The grant is 100% funded with no grant match requirement. Recommendation: It is recommended that City Council authorize the amendment to Resolution 24-101 as discussed above. "Remember,we are here to serve the Citizens of Port Arthur" P.O.
