I am here representing my classmates from Bob Hope High School. I would like to thank Mayor Bartie for inviting us out today to participate in this mornings’ Port Arthur City Council Meeting. 1 2 Street Conditions & Repairs Needed for Port Arthur, Texas Today my fellow students and I would like to present some of the street conditions in our city and are seeking repairs to those areas. 2 3 District 2 917 Trinity Ave 2nd Street In District 2 we found several areas that are severely neglected and need to be repaired due to large potholes, cracked asphalt, and other disrepairs. Such as 917 Trinity Avenue and 2nd Street. 3 Vera St. (The whole home side of the road.) (District 2) 4 Vera Street. The whole home side of the road. Lewis Dr. to Duff Intersection (District 2) 5 Lewis Drive to the Duff intersection. LakeView Ave (By Travis Elementary) All the way down both sides. (District 2) Lake View Avenue by Travis Elementary all the way down both sides of the street. Lake View Ave (By Travis Elementary) Intersection (District 2) 7 Lake View Ave (By Travis Elementary) All the way down both sides. (District 2) 7th Street (District 2) 8 10th Street (District 2) 7th Street has large potholes as well as 10th Street’s sides of the street are just eroded away, narrowing the drivable roadway. Jefferson Drive (coming from Gulfway right before the old OCAW Hall) Between Dryden & Gulf on 9th Ave. Not pictured (District 2) 9 Jefferson Drive coming from Gulfway right before the old O.C.A.W. Hall between Dryden and Gulf on 9th Avenue. 10 District 3 Wentworth Avenue 46th Street In District 3 Wentworth Avenue has major cracks, and 46th Street west of Twin City next to the Walmart has potholes, dipping, and parts of the road falling off into the ditch. 10 3039 Las Palmas Drive (District 3) 11 As well as Las Palmas Drive that needs to be completely redone, as you can see from all the major potholes and road erosion. 26th Street (District 3) 12 26th Street as you can see also needs to probably be completely redone as there is barely a street left to drive on. 13 District 4 6400 Acres Avenue In District 4 at 6400 Acres Ave there is a significant sized pothole that has done damage to vehicles numerous times. 13 14 Position 8 3101 34th Street 32nd Street In Position 8, 32nd Street seems to have cracked, and part of the road has sunken, whereas at 3101 34th Street there is yet another major pothole/divot in the street. 14 15 Thank you so much for inviting us. Perhaps in the future a survey of all the City of Port Arthur’s roads could be done and address for these types of issues.
