COMMENT RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the Crcy Council adopt P. BACKGROUND: Bids were opened on October 14, 2009. _NORTHSTAR UNLIMITED was the lowest and best bidder to wit for the mowing of vacant lots in Area B-1 for the amount of $.0029 per square foot This contact a for one yeaz R2th the Cit}~s option to renew for two (2) additional years. Therefore staff is recommending Noxthsrar Unlimited for the mowing contact for area B-1. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNQL OF THE QTY OF PORT ARTHUR Section 1. That the facts and opinions of the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That, for the purposes of this resolution, Area B-1 is that area of the City of Port Arthur roughly bounded by Martin Luther King to West Side of Houston Avenue. Section 3. That, for the purposes of this resolution, a developed lot is defined as a lot or parcel of land which has one or more buildings on it and a vacant lot is defined as a lot or parcel of land with no buildings on it. Section 4. That the CityCouncil of the Ciryof Port Arthur herebyawards the bid and contract for grass cutting services of privatelyowned properties (not maintained byowners) and Citgownedvacant properties to the best bidder, to wit: NORTHSTAR UNLIMITED . A copy of the bid tabs is attached hereto as Exhibit °A°. Section 5. That the Citymanager is herebyauthorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the Cityof Port Arthur a one year contract with the City's option to renew for two (2) additional years with NORTHSTAR 1 P R No. 15561 10/20/09 RS UNLIMITED for the contract price of .0029 per square foot for the mowing of vacant lou in Area B-1. A copyof this contract attached hereto as Exhibit "B". Section 6. That a copyof the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the CiryCouncil.
