BACKGROUND The upgraded features of this new Autofeed Mailing System will expedite the processing of the mail and give a departmental detailed accounting report as needed. The lease price of $539/month includes delivery, installation, operator's training for the new mailing system, maintenance, and rental of the postage meter. BUDGETARY AND FISCAL EFFECT Funds will be allocated from 001-1033-515.51-00 STAFFING EFFECT None SUMMARY The Purchasing Division recommends the City Council's approval to lease an IJ-80 Autofeed Mailing System with a Dynamic Scale, 10 Ib. postage scale and Thermal Roll Tape Dispenser from Neopost, Inc. of Houston, Texas at the rate of $539/month fora 63 month period. P. R. N0.15565 10/23/09 DF RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO LEASE AN IJ-80 AUTOFEED MAILING SYSTEM WITH A DYNAMIC SCALE, 10 LB. POSTAGE SCALE AND THERMAL ROLL TAPE DISPENSER FROM NEOPOST, INC. OF HOUSTON, TEXAS AT THE RATE OF $539/MONTH FORA 63 MONTH PERIOD. WHEREAS, The Purchasing Division rewmmends the City Council to authorize the City to lease from Neopost, Inc., Houston, Texas an IJ-80 Autofeed Mailing System with a l O lb. postage scale and a thermal roll tape dispenser in substantially the same form as attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; and WHEREAS, the mailing system costs $539/month which includes delivery, installation and operator training for the new mailing system, maintenance, and rental of the postage meter; and WHEREAS, with the acquirement of this new autofeed mailing system it will reduce the City's overall operational costs while replacing the City's mailing system with a new, upgraded system; and WHEREAS, the upgraded features of this new autofeed mailing system will expedite the processing of the mail and give a departmental detailed accounting report. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That, the City Council deems it is in the best interest of the City to approve and authorize the City to lease an IJ-80 Autofeed Mailing System with a dynamic scale, l O lb. postal scale and thermal roll tape dispenser from Neopost, Inc., Houston, Texas in the amount of $539/month for a period of 63 months, substantially the same form as attached hereto as Exhibit "A". Section 3. That, a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
