Stakeholder Engagement and Awareness.
Build interest in and educate communities about green infrastructure through
workshops, online resources, tools, trainings, and direct technical assistance.
Assistance For Communities:
Green Infrastructure Working Group and Standards Development.
Facilitate the creation of a working group of regional, state, and federal partners to
address GI needs and assist in the development of GI standards.
Engineering Assessment and Standard Design Specifications.
Work with an engineering firm to develop specific engineering and design
specifications for GI practices in Texas. (In development)
Cost Benefit Analysis Standardization.
Develop recommendations for standard methodologies for performing cost benefit
analysis of GI projects in Texas. (In development)
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service’s Green Infrastructure for
Texas (GIFT) Program empowers Texans to build resilient communities
adaptable to social, economic, and environmental change. Through
outreach, coalition building, education, and on-the-ground projects, GIFT
inspires communities to implement Green Infrastructure (GI) projects at
any scale. The resources highlighted below are intended to build local
community capacity to implement nature-based solutions for
stormwater management.
