This has led to equipment strain and employee fatigue.The Solid Waste Division acknowledges the need for strategic planning,infrastructure investment,and staffing adjustments to support sustainable service delivery. Solid Waste Master Plan Approved by City Council November 6, 2024 Contract initiated December 18, 2024 Kick-off Meeting Site/Field Visit April 28, 2025 Plan deliverable (recommendations) September 2025 Plan finalization December 18, 2025 Fleet enhancements and New Equipment Purchases Equipment Purchases (FY2025) Two residential garbage trucks Two trash trucks One commercial refuse truck Current Staffing and Operational Demands •High employee turnover •Employee fatigue •Demanding work schedules (6-days per/week/12-hours per/day) •Ongoing equipment challenges •Safety Concerns •Heightened public expectations and limited support Conclusion… The City remains committed to delivering exceptional customer service, transparency, progress, and lasting reform.
