RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION TO CALL A PUBLIC HEARING TO RECEIVE PUBLIC
COMMENT ON THE PROPOSED FISCAL YEAR 2025-2026 BUDGET
WHEREAS, pursuant to §102.006(b) of the Texas Local Government Code, the
governing body shall set the hearing for a date occurring after the 15th day after the date
the proposed budget is filed with the municipal clerk but before the date the governing
body makes its tax levy; and
WHEREAS, the proposed budget will be filed with the City Secretary on August
26, 2025.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct.
Section 2. That a public hearing to receive public comment on the proposed FY
2025-2026 budget shall be held on September 23, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council
Chambers, Fifth Floor, City Hall, 444 Fourth Street, Port Arthur, Texas.
Section 3. That notice of the public hearing shall be published in the official
newspaper of the City pursuant to §102.0065 of the Texas Local Government Code, which
states the notice of hearing must be published in the newspaper not earlier than the 30th
day or later than the 10th day before date of hearing.
Section 4. That a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon
the Minutes of the City Council.
READ, ADOPTED AND APPROVED on this 7th day of August, A.D., 2025, at a
Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Port Arthur, Texas, by the following
