NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING
OF
THE CITY COUNCIL
Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing of the City Council of the City of Port Arthur will be
held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 6:00 p.m., in the City Council Chamber, Fifth Floor, City
Hall, 444 Fourth Street, Port Arthur, Texas, for the purpose of considering the Budget for the City of
Port Arthur and the Port Arthur Section 4A Economic Development Corporation for the fiscal year
beginning October 1, 2025 and ending September 30, 2026. A copy of a summary of the proposed
operating budgets for the 2025-2026 fiscal year is attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit
"A". Citizens shall have the opportunity to provide written and oral comments and to ask questions
concerning the entire budget. The public will also be able to view the public hearing via the City's
website at www.portarthurtx.zov.
THIS BUDGET WILL RAISE MORE TOTAL PROPERTY TAXES
THAN LAST YEAR'S BUDGET BY $1,418,440 OR 5.37%, AND OF
THAT AMOUNT, $195,340 IS TAX REVENUE TO BE RAISED FROM
NEW PROPERTY ADDED TO THE TAX ROLL THIS YEAR.
A copy of the Proposed Budget will be presented at the Public Hearing and can now be
examined at City Hall in the office of the City Secretary and at the Port Arthur Public Library, 4615
9th Avenue, Port Arthur, Texas.
