"Bob" Bowers Civic Center located at 3401 Cultural Drive needs to replace HVAC Rooftop Unit (RTU) #1. It has been determined that the current unit, which cools and heats half of Hall A, needs replacement. Industrial and Commercial Mechanical (ICM) of Beaumont, Texas, has submitted a quote through BuyBoard Contract No. 638-21 in the amount of $201,213.00. Funds are available in account number 307-15-043-8512-00-10-000 Project BU0028.OTH.OMA. ANALYSIS/CONSIDERATION: The current HVAC RTU #1 needs replacement. ICM of Beaumont, Texas, has provided a BuyBoard quote for this work under the Buyboard Cooperative Contract# 638-21 in the amount of $201,213.00. Funds are available in account number 307-15-043-8512-00-10-000 Project BU0028.OTH.OMA. RECOMMENDATION The City Council to authorize the City Manager to enter into an agreement with Industrial and Commercial Mechanical of Beaumont, Texas to replace the current HVAC RTU#1 of the Civic Center in the amount of$201,213.00 under BuyBoard Contract No. 638-21. "BOB" BOWERS CIVIC CENTER LOCATED AT 3401 CULTURAL DRIVE IN THE AMOUNT OF $201,213.00. FUNDS AVAILABLE IN ACCOUNT NUMBER 307-15-043-8512-00-10-000 PROJECT BU0028.OTH.OMA WHEREAS, the Robert A. "Bob" Bowers Civic Center("Civic Center") located at 3401 Cultural Drive needs a new HVAC Rooftop Unit#1 to replace the current unit for the cooling and heating of half of Hall A; and WHEREAS, Industrial and Commercial Mechanical of Beaumont, Texas, has submitted a quote through Buyboard Contract No. 638-21 to replace the HVAC Rooftop Unit#1 in the amount of$201,213.00; and WHEREAS, Chapter 271 of the Local Government Code allows a city, by resolution of its governing body, to participate in cooperative purchasing programs, such as Buyboard, a purchasing cooperative, as an alternative to a formal bid process; and WHEREAS, per Resolution No. 02-341, the city entered into an interlocal agreement for cooperative purchasing with the Buyboard Cooperative Purchasing Program("Buyboard"). NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS: THAT,the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct.
