Background: The Public Works Streets Division (Streets) maintains over 685 miles of City streets. Streets staff is actively involved in improving road conditions through the streets program, road maintenance, and rehabilitation projects. Equipment such as the Case TV620B Compact Track Loader will allow crews to perform work in-house more efficiently, decrease reliance on contract services, and minimize project delays caused by equipment breakdowns. The purchase of this equipment is a new request, and it was approved by the city council in the fiscal year ending 2026 equipment schedule. The track loader will be funded through the Capital Improvement Motor Vehicle Account, account number 625-21-053-8523-00-00-000. Recommendation: It is recommended that the City of Port Arthur City Council approve PR 24622, authorizing the City Manager to purchase one (1) Case TV620B Compact Track Loader for the Public Works Streets Division from Associated Supply Company, Inc. (ASCO) of Beaumont, Texas, through the Buyboard Cooperative Purchasing Program.
