FREEMAN AS THE MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGE FOR THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR AND ESTABLISHING THE TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE VIII OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS WHEREAS, the position of Municipal Court Judge for the City of Port Arthur, Texas became vacant on December 1, 2021. On that date,Antoine L. Freeman was appointed in conjunction with Article VIII of the Charter of the City of Port Arthur,Texas pursuant to Resolution 21-507; and, WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 29.005 of the Texas Government Code and Article VIII, Section 2 of the City Charter,the Municipal Court Judge serves terms of two years; and, WHEREAS,pursuant to Resolution 23-542 the City Council of the City of Port Arthur, Texas re- appointed Antoine L. Freeman as Municipal Court Judge effective December 1,2023;and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Arthur, Texas, desires to re-appoint Judge Antoine L. Freeman to continue to perform the duties set forth in Article VIII of the City Charter as Municipal Court Judge; now,therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS: Section 1. That, the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That,Antoine L. Freeman be, and is hereby re-appointed as Municipal Court Judge for the City of Port Arthur,Texas for the two year period as delineated in the City Charter and Section 29.005 Texas Government Code effective December 1,2025. Section 3. That, the terms of employment for Antoine L. Freeman as Municipal Court Judge of the City of Port Arthur are delineated in Exhibit"A"which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. Section 4. That,a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
