RE: PR 24661 —Purchase an F350 Service Truck for Water Distribution Division
Introduction:
The intent of this Agenda Item is to seek the City Council's approval for the City Manager to
purchase one (1) new 2026 Ford F-350 Service Truck for the Water Utilities Department Water
Distribution Division for$62,373.50 from Silsbee Ford of Silsbee, Texas through TIPS contract.
Background:
Service Trucks are needed by the Water Utilities Water Department Water Distribution Division
for every day operations and maintenance activities to efficiently carry out their duties. The
service truck has a TIPS(240901)Cooperative Purchasing Quote of$62,373.50 for one(1)2026
F-350 service trucks from Silsbee Ford of Silsbee, Texas. Funding is available in Account No.
625-40-215-8523-00-00-000.
Budget Impact:
The total budgetary impact for the service vehicle truck is$62,373.50 and is available in Account
No. 625-40-215-8523-00-00-000
Recommendation:
It is recommended that City Council approve Proposed Resolution No. 24661 authorizing the
City Manager to purchase one (1) F-350 service truck as described/outlined above.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE
(1) FORD F-350 SERVICE TRUCK FOR THE WATER
UTILITIES DEPARTMENT WATER DISTRIBUTION
DIVISION FROM SILSBEE FORD OF SILSBEE, TEXAS,
THROUGH TIPS CONTRACT NO. 240901, IN THE TOTAL
AMOUNT OF $62,373.50. FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE IN
ACCOUNT NO. 625-40-215-8523-00-00-000.
WHEREAS,the Water Utilities Department,the Water Distribution Division need service
trucks for their everyday operations and maintenance activities in order to efficiently carry out
their duties; and,
WHEREAS, Chapter 271 of the Texas Government Code allows a city, by resolution of
its governing body, to participate in cooperative purchasing programs, such as the TIPS
Cooperative Purchasing Program, as an alternative to formal bid process; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 12-008, the City of Port Arthur entered into an
interlocal agreement for cooperative purchasing with Region VIII Education Service Center for
participation in the Interlocal Purchasing System(TIPS) Cooperative Purchasing Program; and,
WHEREAS,City staff has solicited a TIPS Contract No.240901 quote from Silsbee Ford,
of Silsbee, Texas for one (1)new 2026 Ford F-250 Service Truck for$62,373.50(Exhibit"A").
NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PORT ARTHUR,TEXAS:
THAT,the facts and recitals in the preamble are true and correct; and,
THAT, the City Council hereby authorizes the purchase of one (1) new 2026 Ford F-250
Service Truck for $62,373.50 from Silsbee Ford of Silsbee, Texas, through TIPS, for the Water
Department Water Distribution Division with funding available in Account No. 625-40-215-8523-
00-00-000; and,
