Background: Service Trucks are needed by the Water Utilities Wastewater Division for every day operations and maintenance activities to efficiently carry out their duties. The service trucks have a TIPS (240901) Cooperative Purchasing Quote of$75,810.00 for a new 2024 F-350 service truck and $61,937.50 for a new 2026 F-250 service truck from Silsbee Ford of Silsbee, Texas. Funding is available in Account No. 625-40-220-8523-00-00-000, Motor Vehicles. Budget Impact: The total budgetary impact for the service vehicle trucks is $137,747.50 and is available in Account No. 625-40-220-8523-00-00-000, Motor Vehicles. Recommendation: It is recommended that City Council approve Proposed Resolution No. 24659 authorizing the City Manager to purchase an F250 and an F350 Service Trucks as described/outlined above. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE ONE (1) F-350 AND ONE (1) F-250 SERVICE TRUCKS FOR THE WATER UTILITIES DEPARTMENT WASTEWATER DIVISION FROM SILSBEE FORD OF SILSBEE, TEXAS, THROUGH TIPS CONTRACT NO. 240901, IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $137,747.50. FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE IN ACCOUNT NO. 625-40-220-8523-00-00-000, MOTOR VEHICLES. WHEREAS,the Water Utilities Department,the Wastewater Division need service trucks for their everyday operations and maintenance activities in order to efficiently carry out their duties; and, WHEREAS, Chapter 271 of the Texas Government Code allows a city, by resolution of its governing body, to participate in cooperative purchasing programs, such as the TIPS Cooperative Purchasing Program, as an alternative to formal bid process; and, WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 12-008, the City of Port Arthur entered into an interlocal agreement for cooperative purchasing with Region VIII Education Service Center for participation in the Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS) Cooperative Purchasing Program; and, WHEREAS,City staff has solicited a TIPS Contract No. 240901 quote from Silsbee Ford, of Silsbee, Texas for a new 2024 F-350 Service Truck for $75,810.00 and a new 2026 F-250 Service Truck for$61,937.50, in the total combined amount of$137,747.50 (Exhibit"A"). NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS: THAT,the facts and recitals in the preamble are true and correct; and, THAT, the City Council hereby authorizes the purchase of a new 2024 F-350 Service Truck for $75,810.00 and a new 2026 F-250 Service Truck for $61,937.50 from Silsbee Ford of Silsbee, Texas, through TIPS, in the combined total amount of $137,747.50 for the Water PR No.24659 11/14/25 cm Page 2 of 3 Department Wastewater Division with funding available in Account No. 625-40-220-8523-00-00- 000, Motor Vehicles; and, THAT, a copy of the caption of this Resolution shall be spread upon the Minutes of the Meeting of the City Council.
