Background: Service Trucks are needed by the Water Utilities Water Department Wastewater Division for every day operations and maintenance activities to efficiently carry out their duties. The service trucks have a TIPS(240901)Cooperative Purchasing Quote of$57,031.00 each for two(2)2026 F-250 service trucks with service bodies and $47,142.50 for a new 2026 F-250 service truck with 8ft standard bed all from Silsbee Ford of Silsbee, Texas. Funding is available in Account No. 625-40-220-8523-00-00-000. Budget Impact: The total budgetary impact for the service vehicle trucks is $161,204.50 and is available in Account No. 625-40-220-8523-00-00-000 Recommendation: It is recommended that City Council approve Proposed Resolution No. 24660 authorizing the City Manager to purchase three (3) F-250 service trucks as described/outlined above. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF THREE (3) F-250 SERVICE TRUCKS FOR THE WATER UTILITIES DEPARTMENT WASTEWATER DIVISION FROM SILSBEE FORD OF SILSBEE, TEXAS, THROUGH TIPS CONTRACT NO.240901,IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $161,204.50. FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE IN ACCOUNT NO. 625-40-220-8523-00-00-000. WHEREAS,the Water Utilities Department,the Wastewater Division need service trucks for their everyday operations and maintenance activities in order to efficiently carry out their duties; and, WHEREAS, Chapter 271 of the Texas Government Code allows a city, by resolution of its governing body, to participate in cooperative purchasing programs, such as the TIPS Cooperative Purchasing Program, as an alternative to formal bid process; and, WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 12-008, the City of Port Arthur entered into an interlocal agreement for cooperative purchasing with Region VIII Education Service Center for participation in the Interlocal Purchasing System(TIPS) Cooperative Purchasing Program; and, WHEREAS,City staff has solicited a TIPS Contract No. 240901 quote from Silsbee Ford, of Silsbee, Texas for two (2) new 2026 F-250 Service Trucks with service bodies for $57,031.00 each and a new 2026 F-250 Service Truck with 8ft standard bed for $47,142.50, in the total combined amount of$161,204.50 (Exhibit"A"). NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR,TEXAS: THAT,the facts and recitals in the preamble are true and correct; and, THAT,the City Council hereby authorizes the purchase of two(2)new 2026 F-250 Service Trucks with service bodies for $57,031.00 each and a new 2026 F-250 Service Truck with 8ft standard bed for$47,142.50 from Silsbee Ford of Silsbee, Texas, through TIPS, in the combined PR No. 24660 11/14/25 cm Page 2 of 3 total amount of $161,204.50 for the Water Department Wastewater Division with funding available in Account No. 625-40-220-8523-00-00-000; and, THAT, a copy of the caption of this Resolution shall be spread upon the Minutes of the Meeting of the City Council.
